WORLD OF STEELS

WHAT IS STAINLESS STEEL ?

From refined ores to well coiled pipes

Stainless steel is an alloy of steel made with chromium, nickel, and a small percentage of other carbon elements (Carbon, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nitrogen, Sulfur, Copper, Silicon) to increase its durability. Thereby making it more resistant to corrosion than iron or steel.

The addition of the varying alloys gives the stainless steel alloy high temperature resistance, increased corrosion resistance, increased strength and a passive oxide layer, making tarnishing very difficult and birthing the name “stainless” steel.

From the coils to the you, here’s a quick overview on the journey of our stainless steel pipes.

01

Raw Material
Steel coils passing through the decoiler

We source high quality steel belts. The stainless steel coils are produced when hot rolling stainless steel slabs passes through reheated. The hot rolling procedure takes place at a high temperature.

02

Decoiling and Loose Stamping
Stainless steel coils

The steel belts are passed through the decoiler to unwind, making it flat and ready for the Tig Mill. The sheets are them stamped for identification and future quality inspection.

03

Forming, Wielding and Grinding
Grinding of the stainless steel

From this step the steel coils begin to acquire the desired shapes. The welding procedure entails shaping steel into a pipe shape and then joining the seams to keep the shape. The pipes are rotated between two

The steel is cleaned and then cut into the desired shape and length. After the pipes are made, they are passed through a straightening machine. As the pipes pass in between the two rods through the straightening machine they attain the desired shape.

05

Cutting and Unloading
Cutting and unloading of pipes

After length fixing all the straighten pipes are passed through to cutter. The ready pipes are then unloaded and stacked for future use.

06

Polishing
Quality control at Jain Stainless Steel

We use a 36 head polishing machine which provides all our pipes and tubes with a top notch mirror finish.

07

Quality check

We ensure that you receive the finest of product. Our quality supervisors inspects each batch of stainless steel pipes and tubes manufactured at our plant on multiple parameters.
